'Kunst und Streben' (Art and Aspiration) the name sounds half ironic, half serious, and
somehow like moralistic ethical aspirations. This is not without
intention. The Art-GROUP provokes and responds with its Installations
and Performances directly to the expectations in our Society. In their work the Group references the existing space and its contents.
For the limitations placed on particular segments of the population and
the circumcision of their basic rights to elucidate in a public space . Kunst und Streben rented several dozen security personal in 1997 for
the competition for " Forbidden Cities".
These Security patrolled in a closed formation or block through the
Kiel Shopping Mall (Sophienhof) and caused amongst the unknowing
shoppers sensation.
For the Performance-week in Salzau, Kunst und Streben are planning a
Live Operation.
A qualified Plastic Surgeon will be operating on a quite normal
supermarket chicken in preparation for its consumption. |
